Fushigiboshi no Futagohime on Italia1 !

Mediaset Italia1 will start the premiere broadcasting of the popular TV Tokyo’s Magical Girls anime (Mahou Shoujo anime) “Fushigiboshi no Futago hime” (Princesses of Wonder Planet)!

The series will be titled “TWIN PRINCESS PRINCIPESSE GEMELLE” and will start airing from Monday, January 19th 2009. The series will be broadcasted from Monday to Friday at 17:50 (Rome).

Full Metal Alchemist licensed in Italy by MTV Italia

Full Metal Alchemist, the Japanese animated series, to debut in Italy on terrestrial.

The Licensing Machine, a wholly owned division of the Panini Group is delighted to announce a deal has been signed with MTV Italy.

Full Metal Alchemist, 51 half hour episodes, produced in Japan by Aniplex, based on the successful manga published by Square Enix, will premiere on MTV Italy, the leading Italian free to air broadcaster aimed at tweens, teens and young adults, Tuesday April 11th at 9:00 pm. The series, has been aired in Japan, USA and France with impressive shares and has generated a very strong fan base due to the high impact storytelling and the spectacular visuals of the animation.

Publishing, video games, card games and merchandise will release following the TV debut in a series of launches that will begin with the DVD release in June.

Mediaset opens a Licensing page! Plus Naruto & Keroro soon on Italia!

Recently Mediaset launched “Licensing & Merchandisng” web site, It inlcudes Programs and Products available for licensing through Mediaset.
Something took my attetion, the top-hit Anime series is included in the list!
The list also includes: Mermaid Melody Pitchi Pitchi Pitch, Detective Conan, Mirmo, Doraemon (the new series), Lupin the 3rd and Lady Oscar.
Naruto was confirmed to be licensed by Mediaset in a online press release from Panini:

NARUTO ALL SET TO BECOME THE LATEST JAPANESE BLOCKBUSTER TO HIT EUROPE

The Panini Group is delighted to be able to announce that contracts have been exchanged appointing Panini as the exclusive representative of the all important NARUTO franchise for six European territories. Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Austria and Switzerland form the territory which Panini will represent as licensing agents for TV rights (excluding Italy – which is already sold to Mediaset) all home video and DVD as well as most merchandise and promotional categories.

Mediaset is trying to profit after the end of IT! Italian Teen Television, one of Mediaset Pay Per view channel which was shutted down very soon after it launch. IT! aired several Anime series, even in the Original Japanese dub, but it seems was not a great succes.
