Kobato was first serialized in Monthly Sunday Gene-X on 2005. The series went on hiatus on late 2005, but it returned on publication on November 2006 in Newtype magazine.

Similar to Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, Kobato. is a crossover between CLAMP’s popular titles.  Characters from Chobits and Angelic Layer play as secondonary characters in the series, while characters from Magic Knight Rayearth, CardCaptor Sakura and Wish make cameo appearences throughout the series! ^_^

The movie is concurrent with the new Pokemon Nintendo DS Game “Pokemon Platinum”「ポケットモンスタープラチナ」. While the North American release was released concurrently with the game, the European release of Pokemon Platinum has not been officially announced yet.

The movie was released in Japan in 2008 as “Giratina and the Sky Bouquet: Sheimi” (Giratina to sora no hanataba Sheimi 「ギラティナと氷空の花束シェイミ」 ) The story is the 2nd movie of the Pokemon Diamond Pearl Platinum Movie Triology. It is a sequel to the previous Pokemon Diamond Pearl movie Movie 10th: Dialga VS Palkia VS Darkrai (The Rise of Darkrai). The movie will also have a sequel be released in Japan on 2009 and in North America on 2010: Pokemon Movie 12th: To the Conquering of Space-Time (Choukoku no Jikuu he)

Unlike the previous movies, this will be the first movie to be distributed by Universal Studios. Also, the Amazon.com specifications shows that the movie will be in widescreen. If the information is correct, this would also be the first Pokemon movie released on DVD in North America in widescreen (while some European and other international releases were in widescreen)

The series will be released in two Bluray boxes: The first -The Clow Card- with 46 episodes, and the second bluray box -Sakura Card- with 24 episodes. The first Bluray Box sets will be released on March 27th 2009, and will be on sale until March 2010.  While the second box will be released June 26th 2009 and will also be released as a limited time release.

The Card Captor Sakura Bluray box will be one of the very first anime series to come in Bluray box sets in the Japanese market.  According to the publisher, The series has been remastered from a new master newer than the one used for 2005’s DVD Box series.  While the specifications mention that the aspect ratio will be in wide screen 16:9, Commercials of the Bluray Box shows it in 4:3. It’s unclear if the series will be released in 16:9, as It was originally produced as a 4:3.

This news confirms the 2ch rumours that was mentioned last year.
